Tronds Marine Service AS will be the new name of Eide Marine Contractors AS.
The name is based on a local person, Kristoffer Trondson (Tronds) Rustung born about 1490 and raised in Kvinnherad on the Norwegian West Coast. He had a varied maritime career and finally became admiral in the Danish-Norwegian Navy.
Tronds Marine Service AS has from 15 May 2017 been fully owned by the Meidell group of companies and the change of name is part of our new corporate profile. The Meidell group has its headquarters at Onarheim on Tysnes and the main activity is salmon farming through Alsaker Fjordbruk.
Tronds Marine Service AS will continue to operate with the same organisation and assets as before. The company has 41 well qualified employees and offers tailor-made solutions within maritime operations with a focus on heavy-lifting and transport within Northern Europe, in particular along the Norwegian coast.
Tronds Marine Service AS continue to be based in Høylandsbygd and has a fleet of four floating cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 400 tons, two tugs and fifteen barges in different sizes. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
